Search Engine Status - No New Updates
You've probably noticed that the search engine has not been working very well for the past week or so. This is due to a really high load of searches and updates (adding new items to the search engine).
We are in the middle of rearchitecting the search engine to handle a bigger load, which should solve the problem going forward. However, until the new solution is in place, we've had to turn off updating the search engine
Hopefully this means you will be able to complete searches more reliably. But it also means that new items that are being uploaded to the site will not
be added to the search engine immediately.
This means that new items will not show up in the search engine, they will not show up in collection counts, and they will not show up in the "Recent additions" for a collection. They won't show up in any feature that relies on the search engine, including downloads and batting averages. The items that are already in the search engine will show up, so these features won't be empty - they just won't be updating with new items.
This is a temporary measure, and we should be turning updates back on in about a week. Any new items submitted in the mean time will
be added to the search engine once we turn updates back on. You don't need to do anything special to get your items added in.
Thanks for being patient with us!
